Job Description

HVAC Journeyman Installer

$35 - $40/hr | Full-Time | Indianapolis, IN

We are looking for an experienced HVAC Journeyman Installer to oversee and perform the installation and replacement of building systems for HVAC and special projects. This role ensures that work is completed safely, efficiently and is in alignment with the project and customer expectations.

 

Duties / Responsibilities:

·       Prepare work by gathering materials, tools, and setting task priorities.

·       Follow all site requirements, safety standards, and code-of-conduct expectations.

·       Manage crew payroll and timesheets.

·       Execute project objectives based on the approved bid and guidance from the project manager.

·       Interact professionally with customers to ensure expectations are understood and met.

·       Maintain daily work logs and job safety analyses.

·       Install building systems related to climate control.

·       Communicate regularly with the project manager to resolve issues during project progression.

·       Maintain quality service by following organizational standard and documented procedures.

·       Support continuity among corporate, division, and local teams through clear communication and documentation.

·       Remain current in industry knowledge through workshops, publications, and professional networking.

·       Contribute to team goals by completing related tasks as needed.

 

Supervisor Responsibilities:

·       Ability to lead a small team with minimal supervision.

 

Required Skills & Abilities:

·       Valid Driver’s License.

·       Working knowledge of installing building systems for climate control.

·       Plumbing and pipefitting knowledge preferred but not required.

·       Understand and be capable of equipment startup.

·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·       Time management and problem solving skills.

 

Education & Experience:

·       High school diploma or equivalent (technical school training is a plus).

·       Minimum of 5 years’ experience in electrical, heating, cooling, or plumbing trades; 10+ years preferred.

 

Physical Requirements:

·       Ability to work on extension and step ladders.

·       Ability to work from scissor or boom lifts.

  • ·       Ability to lift up to 45 lbs regularly.
