Electrical Service Technician - Journey-Level
Indianapolis, IN | Full-Time | $35–$45/hour DOE
Bring your electrical expertise to a service role where troubleshooting, safety, and quality workmanship matter.
We’re hiring an experienced Electrical Service Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems across commercial and industrial environments. This role is a strong fit for someone who can work independently, diagnose complex electrical issues, and provide professional service to customers throughout Indiana.

What You’ll Do
- Perform electrical service, maintenance, and repair work in commercial and industrial facilities
- Diagnose electrical issues using voltmeters, ohmmeters, ammeters, circuit tracers, continuity testers, and other diagnostic equipment
- Fabricate and install electrical conduit
- Pull wire and install switches, relays, panels, and other electrical devices
- Service communication and power distribution cabling
- Troubleshoot electrical and electronic control systems
- Safely start up and shut down equipment in accordance with applicable OSHA and NEC requirements
- Identify and address unsafe conditions, including potential arc-flash hazards
- Accurately document labor, materials, time, and completed work for billing and service records
- Operate a company vehicle while responding to service calls throughout Indiana
- Maintain clean, organized work areas and provide professional customer service
- Participate in training to stay current on electrical systems, technology, and industry standards
- Perform additional service-related duties as needed
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass an MVR check
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance procedures, and technical documentation
- Effective communication skills when working with customers, dispatch, and internal teams
- Ability to work independently and manage changing service priorities
- Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and perform work in confined spaces
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 4 years of related electrical experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Journeyman or Master Electrician license preferred
- Experienced apprentices may also be considered
Physical Requirements
- Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to perform close-up electrical work with or without corrective vision
- Ability to work from ladders, at heights, and in confined spaces
- Ability to safely perform the physical duties associated with electrical service work
- Ability to pass a post-offer physical ability test
