Thermographer
$70,000 - $80,000/year | Full-Time | Indianapolis, IN
We’re hiring a Preventative Maintenance Technician specializing in Infrared Thermography to support our predictive maintenance programs across customer sites throughout Indiana. This role focuses on infrared inspections, thermal analysis, equipment reliability, and the development of thermography procedures. The position serves as a technical resource within thermography activities and supports mentoring, reporting, and program improvement.
What You’ll Do:
· Perform infrared thermography inspections on electrical, mechanical, and building systems.
· Identify early-stage equipment failures using thermal imaging and data analysis.
· Support predictive maintenance (PdM) and reliability initiatives.
· Inspect substations, high-voltage equipment, rotating machinery, and building envelopes.
· Assist with development of thermography procedures and written practices (SNT-TC-1A).
· Create detailed inspection reports with findings and repair recommendations.
· Ability to create quotes and recommend solutions from negative findings.
· Support mentoring of Level I and Level II technicians.
· Follow NFPA 70E, LOTO, and company safety standards.
What We’re Looking For:
· Experience performing infrared thermography inspections.
· 5+ years in industrial maintenance, NDT, reliability, or predictive maintenance.
· ASNT Level III Thermography (or ISO equivalent) strongly preferred.
· NFPA 70E knowledge.
· Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting experience.
· Understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and infrared physics preferred.
Tools & Technology:
· FLIR thermal imaging camera.
· FLIR tools / ResearchIR.
· RMS software.
· Therman reporting platforms (FLIR reporting, infralog).
· Advanced data analysis tools.
Travel:
· Travel throughout Indiana.
· Primarily daytime travel.
Pay & Benefits:
· $70,000 - $80,000 annually (based on experience).

Experience & Certifications:
· Industrial Maintenance – minimum 5 years’ experience (required).
· ASNT Level III Thermography Certification (required).
