HVAC Service Technician - Journey-Level
Indianapolis, IN | Full-Time | $35–$50/hour DOE

We’re hiring an experienced HVAC Service Technician to service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC systems throughout the Indianapolis area. This position is a strong fit for someone who enjoys solving technical problems, working independently in the field, and building strong relationships with customers.

What You’ll Do
- Service, maintain, and repair commercial HVAC systems
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
- Perform preventive maintenance on rooftop units, split systems, furnaces, air handlers, and related equipment
- Identify system issues and recommend appropriate repairs or maintenance
- Assist with HVAC installations, replacements, and system upgrades as needed
- Manage and maintain inventory in your company service vehicle
- Clearly communicate service findings, recommendations, and completed work to customers
- Document service work accurately using company software
- Follow company safety procedures and industry best practices
- Help customers understand the value of preventive maintenance and long-term equipment care
What You Bring
- EPA Universal Certification
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems
- Customer-focused approach with effective communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage daily service priorities
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Technical or trade school training preferred
- Previous commercial HVAC service experience required
- Additional industry certifications are a plus
Physical Requirements
- Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to work from ladders and at heights
- Ability to perform work in confined spaces
- Ability to safely perform the physical duties associated with commercial HVAC service work
