Plumbing Service Technician - Journey-Level
Indianapolis, IN | Full-Time | $35–$50/hour DOE

We’re hiring an experienced Plumbing Service Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial plumbing systems throughout the Indianapolis area. This position is ideal for a skilled plumber who takes pride in quality workmanship, communicates well with customers, and can independently diagnose and resolve service issues.

What You’ll Do
Plumbing Installation & Repair
- Install and repair water, gas, air, and drain piping systems
- Install and service water heaters, domestic hot water boilers, circulating pumps, backflow preventers, and thermostatic mixing valves
- Assemble and install valves, fittings, and piping made from cast iron, steel, brass, PVC, and copper
- Join piping using threaded connections, bolts, fittings, solder, solvent cement, and caulked joints
- Install and repair plumbing fixtures, including sinks, toilets, bathtubs, and hot water storage tanks
Service, Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Diagnose plumbing system issues and complete repairs efficiently
- Perform drain cleaning and preventative maintenance
- Operate jetting equipment
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding service needs and completed work
- Maintain clean, organized work areas and address customer concerns professionally
Safety & Compliance
- Identify, report, and correct unsafe jobsite conditions
- Follow established safety procedures and company guidelines
- Maintain safe work practices during trenching and shoring operations
- Understand jobsite air-quality requirements and potential hazards
- Maintain a safe and professional working environment at all times
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass an MVR check
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance procedures, and technical documentation
- Effective communication skills when working with customers and dispatch
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights greater than four feet
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 5 years of related plumbing experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Journeyman or Master Plumber license preferred
- Experienced apprentices may also be considered
Physical Requirements
- Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to perform close-up work with or without corrective vision
- Ability to safely perform the physical duties associated with commercial plumbing service work
- Ability to pass a physical ability test
