Field Engineer

Field Engineer – Industrial Construction

Pay: $35-$38 per hour

Per Diem: $150 per day

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Field Engineer to support heavy industrial design-build and plan-spec construction projects. This position will create, maintain, and document project information throughout the project lifecycle while supporting project managers, field teams, customers, and senior leadership.

The Field Engineer will monitor project progress, track schedules and costs, coordinate project documentation, and communicate project impacts to internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and comfortable working independently while collaborating with diverse project teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Create, monitor, and maintain project work packages in collaboration with the Project Manager.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop bills of material from 3D models.
• Update and maintain earned value tracking systems.
• Monitor project schedules and communicate changes in sequencing, duration, acceleration, or delays.
• Coordinate and facilitate weekly project update meetings.
• Track Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, and change order requests across multiple projects.
• Assist with project documentation, including change orders, equipment arrival dates, and project status updates.
• Prepare weekly project reports and monthly reports for senior management.
• Maintain accurate information in Procore, project repositories, and shared storage systems.
• Participate in lessons-learned reviews and help identify process improvements.
• Communicate project impacts, risks, and updates to project teams and customers.
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
• Support the implementation of construction technology and project management systems that improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Travel to other project locations as needed.

Required Qualifications

• At least two years of experience in construction, project management, field engineering, or a related industry.
• At least one year of on-site construction or project experience.
• At least two years of professional office experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Experience using Procore or similar construction management software.
• Experience using Navisworks or similar 3D construction modeling software.
• Ability to understand and communicate construction terminology.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prepare reports and present information to project teams and senior management.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with project managers, field personnel, customers, and other stakeholders.
• Professional demeanor and positive attitude.
• Valid state driver’s license preferred.

Work Environment and Additional Requirements

• This position requires working from the project jobsite office.
• Travel may be required to visit other project locations.
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
• Must provide accurate, high-quality work that can be shared with project teams and company leadership.
