Bilingual HR Business Partner — Richmond, VA

Built with Contractor DNA. Powered by Labor Intelligence.

Our Client, part of Comfort Systems USA, is seeking a Bilingual HR Business Partner to support a dynamic Construction team building mechanical systems for multimillion-dollar commercial construction projects across Virginia. This role goes beyond traditional HR and serves as a trusted business partner to field and operations leaders, helping shape workforce strategy, employee engagement, talent development, and retention across a skilled trades environment.

If you thrive in a fast-paced, people-first culture and enjoy partnering directly with leaders to solve business challenges, support frontline teams, and improve the employee experience, this could be your next great opportunity.

What You’ll Do

Partner closely with business leaders to align HR strategies with operational goals, workforce planning, and talent priorities. Build strong working relationships with managers, frontline supervisors, and field leaders to provide coaching, guidance, and practical HR support. Support employee engagement, retention, career development, succession planning, and workforce initiatives that strengthen the business. Maintain a visible presence by attending team meetings, visiting jobsites, and meeting regularly with leaders and employees. Gather feedback through conversations, site visits, exit interviews, and other touchpoints to understand the employee experience and elevate trends or concerns to leadership. Analyze HR data, workforce trends, and talent metrics to identify risks, improve teammate experience, and recommend solutions. Partner with managers and employees to resolve conflict, strengthen workplace relationships, and support a positive and inclusive culture. Investigate employee concerns, complaints, and misconduct issues as needed and recommend appropriate resolution. Support onboarding, coaching, and development for new hires, internal transfers, and newly promoted supervisors. Coordinate external training and help design or facilitate internal learning initiatives. Review compensation and benefits practices to help support internal equity and market competitiveness. Collaborate with Payroll, Benefits, Learning and Development, Recruiting, and HR teammates on companywide programs, policy updates, and enterprise initiatives. Partner with Recruiting to support hiring activity, interviewing, manager guidance, candidate communications, and local talent attraction efforts.

What You’ll Bring

Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish. Minimum of 2+ years of human resources experience. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field. SHRM or HRCI certification preferred. Strong understanding of HR functions including employee relations, talent acquisition, compliance, engagement, development, and performance support. Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices. Ability to build trust, influence leaders, and form strong working relationships across the business. Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. High emotional intelligence, sound judgment, and professionalism when handling sensitive issues. Strong verbal and written communication skills, active listening skills, and conflict resolution capabilities. Strong organization, project management, and attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, internet research, and business applications. Ability to travel locally within the Richmond area to operating locations, jobsites, and customer facilities as needed. Experience supporting construction, skilled trades, or field operations environments is strongly preferred.
