SAFETY COORDINATOR

POSITION SUMMARY
Our client is seeking dependable and experienced Safety Coordinators for locations in Reedy Fork, High Point, Asheboro, and Rural Hall.
The Safety Coordinator will promote and maintain a safe working environment within manufacturing, construction, warehouse, and industrial settings. This position will implement safety programs, conduct inspections, provide employee training, investigate incidents, and support compliance with OSHA and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
The ideal candidate will have experience in safety or environmental health and safety (EHS) coordination, strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to identify hazards and support corrective actions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement and enforce site-specific safety programs.
- Conduct routine safety inspections and identify workplace hazards.
- Coordinate corrective actions to address safety concerns.
- Deliver safety training, orientations, toolbox talks, and specialized instruction.
- Investigate incidents and near misses.
- Determine root causes and assist with preventive measures.
- Maintain safety records, compliance documentation, and audit readiness.
- Monitor proper personal protective equipment usage.
- Support emergency response planning.
- Prepare safety performance reports.
- Promote a proactive safety culture through employee engagement and collaboration.
- Integrate safety practices into daily operations.
- Work closely with managers, supervisors, and employees to reduce workplace risks.
- Support compliance with OSHA and company safety requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree in a related field preferred.
- Five to seven years of experience in an EHS or safety role preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing, construction, warehouse, or industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations.
- OSHA 30-hour training in manufacturing or construction preferred.
- First Aid, CPR, AED, and BBP certification preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to train and engage employees at all levels.
- Strong attention to detail and hazard-identification skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proactive, dependable, and team-oriented attitude.
- Ability to maintain professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
