Compensation: $75,000–$150,000

Project Focus: Data Centers | Mission Critical Construction | BAS & Controls

Experience: 5+ Years Preferred

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Controls QA/QC Specialist to support field operations on large commercial, data center, and mission-critical construction projects.

This is a hands-on field position focused on installation quality, testing, documentation, commissioning readiness, and project turnover of Building Automation and HVAC Control Systems.

You’ll routinely walk projects, inspect ongoing and completed controls installations, identify deficiencies, document issues, and follow corrective actions through final verification. The goal is simple: catch problems early, reduce rework, and deliver controls systems that are ready to pass commissioning the first time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform initial and follow-up QA/QC field inspections
  • Verify installations against drawings, specifications, approved submittals, and manufacturer requirements
  • Inspect PLC/BAS panels, control wiring, BACnet/IP networks, fiber, sensors, transmitters, actuators, VFD interfaces, chiller/cooling tower controls, CRAH systems, pumps, and emergency shutdown interfaces
  • Identify deficiencies and track corrective actions through completion
  • Support point-to-point checkout, I/O verification, device calibration, and pre-functional testing
  • Verify readiness for startup, IST, and Level 1–5 commissioning
  • Manage punch lists, inspection checklists, deficiency logs, and photo documentation
  • Review redlines, as-built drawings, and turnover documentation
  • Coordinate with project management, field supervision, subcontractors, commissioning teams, engineers, vendors, and owner representatives
  • Maintain site safety standards and required PPE

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of BAS, controls, commissioning, or controls QA/QC experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Building Automation Systems and PLC-based controls
  • Experience with BACnet/IP networks and controls wiring
  • Ability to read mechanical, electrical, and controls drawings
  • Understanding of data center MEP systems and commissioning processes
  • Strong field inspection, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
  • Mission-critical/data center experience preferred
  • Experience with Siemens, Johnson Controls, Schneider Electric, Tridium, Distech, Honeywell, or Allen-Bradley valued
  • Bluebeam Revu, Procore, and OSHA 30 experience preferred

Inspect the work. Catch the issue. Protect the commissioning schedule.
