HVAC Service Technician | $30–$43/hr | La Grange Park, IL
The Opportunity
We're seeking an experienced HVAC Service Technician to join a growing HVAC-R team in La Grange Park, Illinois. This is an outstanding opportunity for a skilled technician with commercial and industrial HVAC and refrigeration experience who enjoys troubleshooting complex mechanical systems, delivering quality workmanship, and working in a safety-focused environment.

Compensation: $30.00–$43.00 per hour, based on skills and experience.
What You'll Do
As an HVAC Service Technician, you'll install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a wide variety of HVAC and refrigeration equipment while ensuring every project is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities include:
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial and industrial HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Fabricate and install sheet metal and ductwork.
- Troubleshoot, install, and repair HVAC and refrigeration control systems.
- Service, install, and repair packaged rooftop units (RTUs).
- Install and troubleshoot Variable Air Volume (VAV) systems.
- Install piping systems including water, compressed air, refrigeration, and gas piping.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, installation drawings, and electrical schematics.
- Perform brazing and soldering of refrigeration and air conditioning piping.
- Maintain accurate service documentation and communicate effectively with customers and project teams.
- Follow OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and industry best practices on every project.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicle inventory when assigned.
What You Bring
We're looking for a technician who has strong troubleshooting skills, mechanical aptitude, and experience working in commercial or industrial HVAC-R environments.
Qualifications include:
- Minimum 5–7 years of HVAC and refrigeration experience as a Journeyman or Service Technician.
- NCCER HVAC & Refrigeration Certification or an Associate's/Bachelor's Degree in HVAC & Refrigeration Technology preferred.
- EPA Universal Certification (Required).
- Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC, refrigeration, and electrical troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.
- Experience with brazing, soldering, refrigeration piping, and sheet metal fabrication.
- Experience servicing rooftop units, VAV systems, refrigeration controls, and industrial piping systems.
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) preferred.
- OSHA 10 certification preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining exceptional safety and quality standards.
