Position Overview
Our client is hiring an experienced Traveling Safety Manager for a large-scale data center construction project in Turkey, TX. This is a contract opportunity offering competitive hourly pay, overtime, and daily per diem for a safety professional with strong field leadership experience.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction safety, OSHA compliance, industrial construction, commercial construction, mission-critical facilities, data center projects, subcontractor coordination, and field safety management. This role is responsible for leading site safety efforts, enforcing safety standards, conducting inspections, supporting project teams, and promoting safe work practices across the jobsite.
Candidates must have OSHA 500 and CHST credentials to be considered.

Key Responsibilities
The Traveling Safety Manager will manage daily construction site safety activities and help ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with OSHA standards, company requirements, and project-specific safety expectations.
This role will conduct daily safety inspections, jobsite audits, hazard assessments, and field observations to identify unsafe conditions, correct risks, and support a proactive safety culture.
The Safety Manager will perform new hire safety orientations, lead toolbox talks, facilitate safety meetings, and communicate safety expectations clearly to employees, subcontractors, supervisors, and project leadership.
This position will maintain safety documentation, inspection records, incident reports, compliance files, training records, and other required project safety reports.
The Safety Manager will review Job Safety Analyses, JSAs, JHAs, work plans, and field activities to help ensure crews understand hazards, controls, and safe work practices before work begins.
This role will investigate incidents, near misses, injuries, and unsafe conditions, then recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
The Safety Manager will enforce OSHA standards, company safety policies, and project-specific safety requirements while working directly with project management, subcontractors, field supervisors, and trade partners.
This position will promote safe work practices throughout the project and serve as a visible safety leader on site.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must have OSHA 500 certification.
Candidates must have CHST certification.
Candidates must have at least 5 years of construction safety experience.
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, construction safety standards, hazard recognition, and field safety enforcement is required.
Candidates must have excellent communication, documentation, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Candidates must be comfortable working in an active construction environment and interacting with project managers, subcontractors, supervisors, craft workers, and client representatives.
Preferred Qualifications
Data center construction experience is strongly preferred.
Mission-critical construction experience is preferred.
Industrial construction or commercial construction safety experience is preferred.
Experience supporting large-scale construction projects, high-volume subcontractor work, fast-track schedules, and multi-trade jobsites is highly valuable.
Experience with EHS programs, HSE field leadership, subcontractor safety oversight, and safety documentation systems is preferred.
Additional Skills and Transferable Experience
Strong candidates may have transferable experience in construction safety management, industrial safety, commercial safety, data center safety, mission-critical construction safety, general contractor safety, subcontractor safety coordination, field safety leadership, project safety management, and site safety compliance.
Candidates may also bring experience with safety program implementation, employee safety training, field coaching, safety observations, behavioral safety, incident prevention, safety culture development, safety metrics, daily reports, audit tracking, risk mitigation, corrective action follow-up, and regulatory compliance.
Additional relevant skills may include knowledge of OSHA 1926 construction standards, OSHA 1910 general industry standards, NFPA 70E, lockout/tagout procedures, fall protection plans, confined space procedures, excavation and trenching requirements, crane and rigging safety, aerial lift safety, forklift safety, hot work permits, electrical hazard controls, and emergency action plans.
Candidates with experience working around electrical contractors, mechanical contractors, plumbing contractors, HVAC contractors, concrete crews, steel erection, equipment operators, commissioning teams, and large subcontractor groups may be a strong fit for this role.
