Position Summary

The HR Generalist provides frontline Human Resources support and helps execute people programs and HR-related activities across the organization. This role plays a key part in onboarding, employee support, employee engagement, HR data integrity, and the local execution of corporate HR initiatives.

The HR Generalist serves as a first point of contact for teammates and leaders, helping resolve routine HR needs, route questions appropriately, support a positive employee experience, and ensure HR processes are completed accurately and timely.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities – A Day in the Life

• Answer and respond to employee questions related to benefits, wellness, policies, processes, and other general HR inquiries

• Provide a simple “front door” HR experience by resolving routine needs quickly or routing matters to the appropriate resource

• Maintain availability to teammates and support early intervention for employee relations questions and positive employee experiences

• Support onboarding activities, including administrative orientations, day-one readiness, I-9 completion, equipment setup, scheduling, and follow-up

• Partner with supervisors and HR Business Partners to support documented onboarding plans and ensure a smooth transition for new hires

• Review HR data and reports and partner with HR, Payroll, and Benefits teams to correct information in the ERP system

• Assist teammates with Workday and employee app access, including basic login issues

• Support execution of corporate and local HR programs, including engagement surveys, open enrollment, wellness initiatives, and related activities

• Participate in local business unit activities such as lunches, events, and volunteer opportunities to support culture and engagement

• Handle first-line employee relations matters and escalate issues to HR Business Partners and HR Managers as appropriate

• Route employee relations issues accurately and timely, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up

• Conduct and track exit interviews with teammates

• Log and track exit interview data, identify trends, and communicate insights to HR Business Partner partners

• Maintain accurate HR data, documentation, and records, including job descriptions

• Perform quality control on HR data, reporting, and transactions; identify discrepancies and take the lead in resolving corrections

• Organize HR documentation in alignment with company standards

• Ensure required labor law and employment posters are current and properly displayed

• Provide administrative, coordination, and execution support to HR Business Partners, HR Managers, and Operating Units

• Support the HR team and Operating Unit supervisors in coordinating employee training

• Support managers with tactical HR needs and the execution of people programs at the local level

• Perform other duties as assigned to support the needs of the business and HR team

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Basic knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and employment practices

• Understanding of confidentiality and professional HR standards

• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills

• Effective verbal and written communication skills

• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and follow-up skills

• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to build trust and rapport with teammates and leaders

• Ability to exercise sound judgment and escalate issues appropriately

• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the HR team

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to provide professional and timely support to employees and leaders

• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to route issues to the appropriate HR resource

• Comfortable working with HR systems, employee records, reporting, and data quality checks

• Ability to support onboarding, employee engagement, HR programs, documentation, and compliance-related activities

• Strong customer-service mindset with a focus on creating a positive employee experience

• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and business needs

Preferred Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in Human Resources or a related role preferred

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred

• Exposure to HR processes such as onboarding, employee support, employee relations, or data administration preferred

• Experience using Workday, Salesforce, ERP systems, or other HR-related platforms preferred
