Job Description

Senior Director, Energy Project Management

Location: Houston Energy Corridor, Houston, TX

A leading global energy and infrastructure organization is seeking an experienced Senior Director, Energy Project Management to lead the execution of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage (BESS), Solar PV, and power generation projects across Texas and the broader U.S. market. This role will establish project execution systems, build local project teams, and oversee the successful delivery of strategic energy infrastructure projects from development through EPC execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish project execution frameworks, standards, and operational processes for U.S. energy projects.
  • Build and lead project teams, including EPC, construction, and HSE functions.
  • Direct project execution across development, permitting, engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
  • Manage project budgets, cash flow, schedules, contracts, and overall project performance.
  • Monitor EPC contract milestones, administer change orders, and mitigate commercial and schedule risks.
  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks, including liquidated damages exposure and cost impacts.
  • Support organizational growth by enhancing project delivery capabilities and execution systems.
  • Evaluate future business opportunities from technical, permitting, and execution perspectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience managing utility-scale BESS, Solar PV, gas power, or energy infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of project development, permitting, EPC execution, contract management, and project controls.
  • Demonstrated success delivering large-scale energy projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Experience working with U.S.-based IPPs, developers, EPC contractors, and industry stakeholders.
  • Texas/ERCOT project experience strongly preferred.

  • Experience establishing project execution organizations or leading first-of-kind project deployments.
  • Strong leadership, financial management, and risk management capabilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a global organization and across international teams.
