Senior Commercial Plumbing Estimator

Location: Matthews NC

Job Type: Full-Time

Salary: $100,000 - $120,000 per annum (based on experience)


About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Commercial Plumbing Estimator to join a growing mechanical contractor. This role is responsible for preparing accurate, competitive bids and supporting preconstruction efforts across a variety of commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review blueprints, specifications, and project documents to determine scope and cost
  • Prepare detailed estimates including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors
  • Develop and submit competitive bid packages within required timelines
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to obtain accurate pricing
  • Negotiate pricing with subcontractors and suppliers as needed
  • Track and manage costs throughout the estimating process
  • Ensure appropriate profit margins are included in all bids
  • Maintain organized project documentation and bid history
  • Support continuous improvement of estimating processes and cost efficiency

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of commercial plumbing estimating experience (required)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Strong understanding of construction costs, materials, and workflows
  • Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office tools
  • Solid math and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and organizational abilities
  • Knowledge of job site safety standards and construction practices
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Preferred:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field (or equivalent experience)

Work Environment

  • Primarily office-based with occasional job site visits
  • Standard business hours with project-based deadlines
  • Exposure to active construction environments during site visits

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout the day
  • Occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs)
  • Ability to navigate job sites (stairs, uneven terrain, etc.)
