Mechanical Coordinator / Field Engineer


Lubbock, TX

$40–$65/hr DOE

Per Diem: $150/day Available

Schedule: 13 Days On / 1 Day Off | 6 x 12-Hour Days

Data Center Construction

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Coordinator / Field Engineer to support a major Data Center construction project in Lubbock, Texas. This role will play a critical part in coordinating mechanical construction activities, supporting field execution, resolving technical issues, and ensuring successful commissioning and turnover of mission-critical systems.

If you have experience with HVAC systems, chilled water infrastructure, hydronic piping, cooling equipment, and large-scale mechanical installations, we want to hear from you.


Key Responsibilities

🔹 Coordinate daily mechanical construction and installation activities

🔹 Review mechanical drawings, specifications, and engineering deliverables

🔹 Support procurement activities and material tracking

🔹 Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel

🔹 Resolve field engineering and constructability issues

🔹 Support commissioning readiness and startup activities

🔹 Maintain as-built documentation and turnover packages

🔹 Participate in project scheduling and look-ahead planning meetings

🔹 Monitor installation progress and support project reporting

🔹 Ensure quality, safety, and project execution standards are met


Qualifications

5+ years of mechanical construction experience

Experience with HVAC systems, chilled water systems, hydronic piping, cooling towers, CRAH/CRAC units, or mission-critical mechanical infrastructure

Strong understanding of mechanical installation and construction sequencing

Excellent coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills

Experience supporting field execution on industrial or large commercial projects


Preferred Qualifications

Mechanical Engineering degree

Commissioning and startup experience

Experience supporting large-scale HVAC and cooling infrastructure projects
