Our client, a leading industrial contractor, is seeking an experienced Commissioning Specialist to oversee commissioning, startup, and turnover activities on complex industrial construction projects. This role serves as the primary point of coordination between clients, field installation teams, subcontractors, and project leadership to ensure systems are commissioned safely, efficiently, and in accordance with contract requirements.

If you thrive in fast-paced industrial environments, enjoy leading multidisciplinary teams, and have experience coordinating startup and commissioning activities, this opportunity offers the chance to play a critical role in successful project delivery.

What You'll Do

  • Manage client expectations throughout all commissioning phases.
  • Coordinate commissioning activities while ensuring work remains within contract scope and project budgets.
  • Review and process time-and-material work for out-of-scope commissioning activities.
  • Coordinate turnover schedules with installation teams to support project milestones.
  • Manage flushing, startup, testing, and commissioning activities with subcontractors.
  • Lead daily commissioning operations involving crews of approximately 20 to 25 personnel.
  • Facilitate owner, contractor, subcontractor, and commissioning meetings.
  • Monitor commissioning schedules, resolve field issues, and maintain project momentum.
  • Prepare turnover documentation, commissioning reports, and project records.
  • Provide monthly project updates and commissioning status reports to senior executive leadership.
  • Collaborate closely with construction, project management, quality, and safety teams throughout project execution.
  • Promote safe work practices while maintaining compliance with OSHA, client, and company standards.

What You Bring

  • Five or more years of industrial or commercial construction experience.
  • Demonstrated commissioning, startup, or systems turnover experience.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple contractors and project stakeholders.
  • Experience reviewing contract scope and identifying change-order opportunities.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to direct large field teams.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
  • Strong organizational and scheduling abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software.

Why It's Worth It

This opportunity places you at the center of major industrial construction projects where commissioning is essential to successful project completion. You'll work alongside experienced construction professionals while building strong client relationships, leading commissioning operations, and influencing project success from turnover through final acceptance. The role offers exposure to technically challenging projects, collaborative leadership, and long-term career growth within a respected industrial contractor.

Full-time position with travel based on project assignments. Extended hours and weekends may be required during commissioning and startup milestones.
