Mechanical Process Piping Detailer / Designer

A well-established and growing mechanical contractor is seeking a skilled Mechanical Process Piping Detailer / Designer to support complex commercial projects. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving coordination challenges, and wants to be part of a company that invests heavily in its people and long-term growth.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and coordinate detailed drawings for mechanical piping and plumbing systems on large-scale commercial projects
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers to ensure alignment with project plans, specifications, and fabrication standards
- Identify and communicate design conflicts, discrepancies, and required modifications
- Produce accurate, fully coordinated drawings with clear dimensions and constructability in mind
- Prepare and submit marked-up documents reflecting field and design changes
- Participate in coordination meetings and provide technical input as needed
- Conduct site visits to verify conditions and support project execution
- Proactively flag scope gaps or design issues not reflected in contract documents
What You Bring
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and submittals
- Solid understanding of mechanical systems and applicable plumbing codes
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities without sacrificing accuracy
- Professional communication skills with both internal teams and external partners
- Composure under pressure with a strong sense of urgency
- Field experience as a pipefitter, foreman, or licensed plumber is highly valued
