BIM / VDC Engineer – Data Center Controls & MEP

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced BIM / VDC Engineer to develop, coordinate, and maintain BIM models and construction documentation for complex data center controls and MEP systems.

This position will work closely with engineering, project management, construction, and field teams to ensure controls installations are accurately modeled and coordinated with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural, and architectural systems.

The ideal candidate brings strong Revit and AutoCAD skills, understands multidisciplinary MEP coordination, and can translate engineering documents and field information into accurate, constructible models and installation drawings.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Revit/BIM models for controls and MEP systems
• Create controls layouts, equipment locations, cable tray/conduit coordination, and installation details
• Coordinate controls installations with:
  • Mechanical systems
  • Electrical systems
  • Plumbing
  • Structural systems
  • Architectural models
• Perform clash detection and coordinate resolutions with project teams
• Produce:
  • Shop drawings
  • Coordination drawings
  • Installation drawings
  • As-built drawings
• Develop equipment and device layouts from engineering documentation
• Maintain BIM standards, Revit families, templates, and model requirements
• Participate in BIM/VDC coordination meetings
• Support construction and field teams with current models and drawings
• Incorporate field changes and redlines into final BIM and as-built documentation
• Maintain model accuracy throughout design, construction, and turnover

Qualifications

• 3–7+ years of BIM/Revit experience
• Strong proficiency with Autodesk Revit
• Strong AutoCAD skills
• Experience producing construction and coordination drawings
• Understanding of multidisciplinary MEP coordination
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to collaborate with engineering, construction, and field teams

Preferred Experience

• Data center or mission-critical construction experience
• BIM experience supporting MEP and/or controls systems
• Navisworks experience
• Clash detection and coordination experience
• Knowledge of HVAC controls and Building Automation Systems (BAS)
• Understanding of electrical systems
• Cable tray and conduit coordination experience
• Experience developing final as-built models and documentation
