The Opportunity

We are hiring multiple Pipefitter Foremen in Austin, TX for our client, a mechanical contractor supporting commercial mechanical construction projects throughout the local Austin market.

Mechanical contractor experience is required for this position. We are specifically seeking Pipefitter Foremen who have built their pipefitting and field leadership experience working for a commercial mechanical contractor. Candidates whose piping experience comes primarily from oil & gas, industrial plants, refineries, manufacturing facilities, process piping environments, or other non-mechanical-contractor industries will not be considered for this opening.

The Pipefitter Foreman will report directly to the Superintendent and lead assigned piping crews in the field. This person will be responsible for coordinating daily installation activities, manpower, materials, layout, production, and communication with field leadership while remaining actively engaged in the work.

The position pays $38.00–$44.00 per hour and offers a $5,000–$8,000 sign-on bonus.

What You'll Do

• Lead and coordinate daily activities for assigned pipefitting crews on mechanical construction projects.
• Direct the layout, assembly, installation, and completion of piping systems.
• Read and interpret mechanical construction drawings, piping plans, specifications, and layouts.
• Plan daily work and coordinate manpower, materials, tools, and equipment with the Superintendent.
• Provide clear direction to pipefitters and maintain productive field operations.
• Monitor field production and communicate schedule, manpower, material, and installation concerns.
• Coordinate piping installation with sheet metal, plumbing, electrical, and other construction trades.
• Identify installation conflicts and work with field leadership to resolve issues before they affect production.
• Reinforce jobsite safety requirements and safe work practices.
• Monitor workmanship and help ensure piping installations meet project quality expectations.

What You Bring

• 5+ years of pipefitting/foreman experience.
• Required experience working for a commercial mechanical contractor performing mechanical piping construction.
• Demonstrated experience leading pipefitting crews in a mechanical construction environment.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of pipefitting, piping installation, layout, and field construction practices.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical construction drawings and piping layouts.
• Experience coordinating manpower, materials, tools, and daily field production.
• Ability to work effectively with Superintendents and other field leadership.
• Strong field communication, organization, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• A safety-focused leadership approach with an emphasis on quality and productivity.

Important Background Requirement: This opening is specifically for candidates with mechanical contractor pipefitting experience. Experience primarily within oil & gas, refineries, industrial plants, manufacturing, process facilities, or other non-mechanical-contractor environments does not meet the experience requirement for this position.
