Position Summary
Our client is seeking a Supply Chain Demand Planner to support outsourced fabrication, production planning, logistics, and project execution across mechanical construction operations. This role is responsible for forecasting fabrication demand, coordinating third-party fabrication capacity, aligning materials and schedules, and ensuring prefabricated components are delivered to project sites on time and in accordance with project requirements.
The Supply Chain Demand Planner serves as a key liaison between operations, procurement, logistics, virtual construction, manufacturing teams, field operations, and external fabrication partners. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented supply chain professional with experience in demand planning, production scheduling, capacity planning, material coordination, logistics, manufacturing, fabrication, or construction operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
A Day in the Life
As a Supply Chain Demand Planner, you will:
• Forecast outsourced fabrication demand and align production capacity with upcoming project needs.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, operations, procurement, logistics, virtual construction, and field teams to understand production requirements.
• Partner with third-party fabrication vendors to coordinate schedules, capacity, materials, drawings, models, and delivery timelines.
• Manage transportation and logistics activities to support timely delivery of fabricated materials to project sites.
• Serve as the primary point of coordination between internal teams and external fabrication partners.
• Support communication and issue resolution related to fabrication drawings, BIM/VDC models, specifications, and project requirements.
• Facilitate material procurement, delivery, and vendor coordination for fabrication partners when needed.
• Monitor production schedules, fabrication timelines, and project milestones to help prevent delays.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, field teams, vendors, and contract production partners.
• Use Excel, ERP systems, and business tools to support planning, tracking, reporting, and decision-making.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Business Management, Construction Management, Industrial Management, or a related field.
• Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience in manufacturing, fabrication, construction operations, supply chain, logistics, or project management may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Knowledge of demand planning, capacity planning, production scheduling, operations planning, or supply chain planning processes.
• Experience coordinating material procurement, logistics, transportation, production schedules, or vendor activities.
• Experience managing multiple priorities and working with stakeholders across operations, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and field teams.
• Strong analytical skills with experience using Microsoft Excel and ERP or business systems to support planning and decision-making.
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with internal teams and external vendors.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Strong understanding of supply chain planning, fabrication coordination, material flow, and logistics processes.
• Ability to forecast demand, evaluate capacity, and coordinate production schedules.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work across departments and with external fabrication partners.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced construction, manufacturing, or project-based environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify risks, resolve issues, and keep work moving forward.
• Proficiency with Excel, ERP systems, and other planning or reporting tools.
• Ability to interpret project requirements, fabrication schedules, drawings, models, and material needs.
• Commitment to safety, accountability, teamwork, and customer service.
Preferred Qualifications
• 3+ years of experience in demand planning, supply chain planning, production scheduling, forecasting, logistics, manufacturing coordination, or fabrication planning.
• Experience working with third-party manufacturers, fabricators, contract production partners, or outsourced fabrication vendors.
• Familiarity with industrial construction, commercial mechanical contracting, piping fabrication, prefabrication, manufacturing, or construction operations.
• Experience supporting mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, piping, or industrial fabrication projects.
• Experience with ERP systems, production planning tools, procurement systems, or construction management software.

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, and work in office, warehouse, fabrication, or construction site environments as required.
