MIG Rollout Pipe Welders – Midwest

Pay: $40/hour

Per Diem: $140/day

Schedule: 60 hours/week

Job Overview

Kodiak Labor Solutions is seeking experienced MIG Rollout Pipe Welders for a long-term fabrication shop project in the Midwest. This opportunity offers $40/hour, $140/day per diem, and 60 hours per week for qualified welders with professional MIG pipe welding experience.

Candidates must be comfortable producing high-quality pipe welds in a fast-paced production fabrication environment. The work includes both freehand pipe welding and rollout welding using shop equipment and manipulators.

What You'll Do

  • Perform MIG/GMAW welding on carbon steel pipe
  • Perform rollout pipe welding using a welding manipulator
  • Complete root, fill, and cap welds according to applicable welding procedures
  • Perform freehand pipe welding in multiple positions
  • Use MIG, metal core, and flux core welding processes as required
  • Inspect pipe preparation and fit-up prior to welding
  • Maintain proper weld penetration, bead profile, and overall weld quality
  • Read and interpret fabrication drawings, weld symbols, and welding specifications
  • Identify and correct weld defects as necessary
  • Coordinate with pipefitters, supervisors, and quality control personnel
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Follow all shop-specific safety and welding procedures

Qualifications

  • Professional MIG pipe welding experience required
  • Previous rollout pipe welding experience preferred
  • Experience using a welding manipulator preferred
  • Experience with MIG/GMAW, FCAW, and metal core welding processes
  • Strong understanding of pipe preparation, fit-up, and welding procedures
  • Previous fabrication shop experience preferred
  • Ability to read fabrication drawings and weld symbols
  • Ability to consistently produce quality welds in a production fabrication environment
  • Must be able to pass a hands-on weld test
  • Reliable attendance and ability to work the full 60-hour weekly schedule
