📍 Eastern, NC

💼 Full-Time | Commercial & Industrial HVAC

💲 Salary Range: $65,000 – $95,000

Role Overview

The Commercial Service & Project Sales Representative drives profitable growth by developing accurate, competitive HVAC cost estimates and supporting high-value design-build and plan-spec projects. This role collaborates closely with Sales, Operations, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure alignment between estimating strategy and field execution.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed HVAC cost estimates, material takeoffs, and labor projections
  • Review blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure scope accuracy
  • Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing
  • Support Sales with proposal development and client presentations
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and job site walkthroughs
  • Provide value engineering recommendations to improve competitiveness and margin
  • Conduct margin reviews and cost analysis to ensure profitability targets
  • Maintain CRM documentation and track bid pipeline performance

Success Metrics

Performance will be measured by:

  • Estimate accuracy within ±2–3% of final project cost
  • 25–35% bid-hit ratio on qualified opportunities
  • Estimate turnaround within 3–7 business days
  • Supporting $8M–$20M+ in annual awarded revenue
  • Meeting or exceeding gross margin targets

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of mechanical estimating experience (commercial HVAC preferred)
  • HVAC service or project sales experience a plus
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced modeling preferred)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications
  • CRM experience preferred
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • Ability to influence decision-makers and support cross-functional teams
  • Willingness to travel within assigned territory
