Commercial Electrician – HVAC & Controls Focus

💲 Pay Range: $40–$50 per hour

Position Overview:

We are seeking a licensed Commercial Electrician with experience in HVAC systems or building controls (BAS) to join our team in Chantilly, VA. In this role, you’ll install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical and control systems in commercial environments. Ideal candidates will be self-motivated, safety-conscious, and capable of independently managing project scopes from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform commercial electrical installations and repairs, including:
  • Power distribution, lighting, and control wiring
  • Motors, starters, switchgear, and transformers
  • Motor control centers and power panels
  • Conduit bending, conductor pulling, and junction box installations
• Support HVAC, plumbing, and building automation system (BAS) projects
• Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform preventative maintenance
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications
• Ensure work complies with NEC codes, OSHA safety standards, and local regulations
• Maintain clear communication with team members and clients
• Track materials used and maintain accurate documentation

Qualifications:

• Valid Journeyman Electrician License (required)
• Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial electrical installations
• Familiarity with HVAC, controls, and mechanical systems
• Ability to manage jobs independently with minimal supervision
• Completion of accredited trade school program (preferred)
• High school diploma or GED
• Proficient in reading construction drawings and wiring diagrams
• Strong understanding of NEC and OSHA compliance
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Clean driving record and ability to pass drug screen and background check
