Job Title: Safety Coordinator
Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Overview
We are seeking a Safety Coordinator with OSHA 30 certification to support and enforce workplace safety programs across active job sites. This role is responsible for promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and company safety standards, and supporting field teams through training, inspections, and incident prevention. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in fast-paced construction or industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities
The Safety Coordinator supports the implementation and enforcement of company safety policies and OSHA regulations. Responsibilities include conducting jobsite safety inspections, identifying hazards, and recommending corrective actions. The Safety Coordinator leads or assists with safety orientations, toolbox talks, and training sessions, and supports incident reporting, investigations, and documentation.
This role works closely with project managers, superintendents, and field personnel to ensure safety expectations are clearly communicated and consistently followed. The Safety Coordinator maintains safety records, logs, permits, and compliance documentation, and assists with regulatory audits and reporting requirements. Additional responsibilities include monitoring PPE usage, supporting emergency response planning, and promoting continuous safety improvement.
Qualifications
Candidates must hold a current OSHA 30 certification. Previous experience in construction, industrial, manufacturing, or similar environments is required. Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, hazard identification, and incident prevention practices is essential. The ability to communicate effectively with field crews, supervisors, and management is required.
Preferred Skills and Experience
Experience conducting safety inspections and job hazard analyses
Familiarity with incident investigations and corrective action tracking
Strong organizational and documentation skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Bilingual English and Spanish skills are a plus
Physical Requirements
Ability to work on active job sites, walk uneven terrain, climb ladders, and stand for extended periods. Must be able to wear required PPE and work in varying weather conditions as needed.
Work Environment
This position requires regular presence on active job sites and may include exposure to noise, dust, equipment, and construction hazards. Strict adherence to safety protocols is required at all times.
