Role Overview

Install, modify, and repair sheet metal ductwork and HVAC components for industrial and commercial applications. Work from project drawings and specifications to deliver secure, properly sealed installations that meet quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine installation requirements.
• Measure, cut, bend, and fit sheet metal for ductwork, transitions, offsets, and connections.
• Install ducts, vents, hangers, and supports in accordance with project requirements and SMACNA standards.
• Hang ductwork securely, maintaining proper alignment and level.
• Join and seal duct sections using collars, flanges, bolts, and other specified fastening methods.
• Sketch transitions and connections for fabrication with supervision.
• Inspect completed work for accuracy, fit, sealing, and compliance with specifications; repair or replace components as needed.
• Maintain tools and equipment, follow site safety procedures, and coordinate work with other trades.

• Complete installations accurately and in accordance with drawings and specifications.
• Meet assigned schedules while maintaining quality workmanship.
• Inspect your own work and promptly address deficiencies.
• Recognize and report safety hazards and communicate installation issues to supervision.

Qualifications & Experience

• High school diploma, GED, or trade school education.
• Previous HVAC or sheet metal installation experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of HVAC systems and components.
• Ability to read and interpret project drawings.
• Ability to read and write English, follow verbal and written instructions, and perform basic math.
• Ability to safely use tools and equipment associated with sheet metal installation.
• An extensive, project specific criminal background check is required.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Ability to lift and carry 30–50 pounds and handle tools and materials, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to climb ladders and scaffolds, work at heights, and maintain balance.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, push, pull, and reach as required.
• Work on construction sites with uneven surfaces, obstructed pathways, varying noise levels, and potential exposure to dust and chemical substances.
• Follow required safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
