Project Manager I (Construction / Field Operations)

Hendersonville, TN | Full-Time | FLSA Exempt

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager I in Hendersonville, Tennessee to provide overall management direction for one large field project or multiple smaller projects. This role is responsible for project planning, field execution, financial oversight, and client coordination to ensure construction projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with corporate standards.

This position is ideal for a construction professional with strong leadership skills and hands-on experience managing field operations, teams, and client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and staff key field and project positions in coordination with regional department leadership

• Establish and manage project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards in accordance with corporate guidelines

• Serve as the primary liaison with clients, architects, engineers, and design partners to facilitate construction activities

• Direct and oversee on-site construction through Superintendents to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget

• Identify, investigate, and resolve complex or high-risk project issues; implement corrective actions as needed

• Represent the company in project meetings, labor negotiations, and strategic planning sessions

• Manage all financial aspects of construction contracts, including fees, rentals, income, and expenses

• Protect company interests while maintaining strong, long-term client relationships

• Assume additional leadership or operational responsibilities as directed by executive leadership

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)

• 10+ years of experience in construction project management

• Strong knowledge of construction methods, project controls, and industry best practices

• Proven ability to apply effective and innovative management techniques

• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills

• Business-oriented mindset with strong financial and operational awareness
