About the Job

KODIAK is hiring a Journey-Level Instrumentation Fitter for an industrial manufacturing and process facility construction project in Memphis, TN. Local and traveling candidates are welcome to apply.

We’re looking for a skilled tradesperson to install, fabricate, route, and test stainless steel instrument tubing used in pneumatic, hydraulic, and process control systems. If you’re an experienced fitter who is dependable and ready to get started, we want to hear from you.

Pay & Schedule

  • Up to $35/hr (DOE)
  • Overtime at $52.50/hr; double time at $70/hr
  • $100/day per diem, paid on days worked
  • First shift | 5 days/week | Approximately 50 hours/week
  • Immediate start
  • Long-term work with overtime opportunities

What You’ll Do

  • Install and route stainless steel instrument tubing for pneumatic, hydraulic, and process control systems.
  • Read and interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, tubing layouts, and installation specifications.
  • Measure, cut, bend, and install tubing using industry-standard tools.
  • Install tubing supports, clamps, cable trays, and mounting hardware.
  • Install and connect valves, manifolds, pressure transmitters, flow meters, temperature instruments, analyzers, and other field instrumentation.
  • Assemble compression fittings, including Swagelok, Parker, or equivalent systems, to ensure leak-free connections.
  • Perform pressure testing, leak checks, flushing, and quality inspections.
  • Ensure tubing installations meet project specifications and manufacturer requirements.
  • Work alongside electricians, pipefitters, millwrights, and instrumentation technicians.
  • Maintain a clean work area and follow all company and site safety requirements.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of industrial instrumentation tubing or process piping experience.
  • Ability to read P&IDs, loop drawings, and instrumentation layouts.
  • Strong tubing bending and compression fitting skills.
  • Familiarity with pneumatic and hydraulic control systems.
  • Experience in manufacturing, chemical processing, food processing, power generation, or similar industrial environments.
  • OSHA 10 preferred; OSHA 30 is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to follow job site safety procedures and work as part of a team.

Preferred Experience

  • Instrument air systems.
  • Process control and automation projects.
  • PLC and DCS instrumentation installations.
  • Industrial plant expansions, shutdowns, and new construction.
  • Leak testing, calibration support, and commissioning.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, bend, crouch, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
  • Comfortable working from ladders, scaffolding, and aerial lifts.
  • Ability to perform detailed, precision work using hand and power tools.
  • Availability to work overtime, weekends, and extended schedules as needed.
