Assistant Construction Manager

Location: Taylor, TX | Full-Time | On-Site

We are recruiting for an experienced Assistant Construction Manager to support a large-scale, high-tech semiconductor construction project in Taylor, Texas.

This position is ideal for a construction professional who enjoys a combination of field coordination and project management, with responsibility for subcontractor oversight, drawings and documentation, safety, quality, schedule, and progress tracking.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily field activities with the GC, subcontractors, designers, and project stakeholders
• Conduct site walkthroughs to monitor construction progress, safety, quality, and compliance
• Review drawings, specifications, technical submittals, and contract documents
• Verify field installation against blueprints, project specifications, and schedules
• Prepare and manage RFIs, construction plans, progress reports, and project documentation
• Track subcontractor performance and identify field issues requiring corrective action
• Support enforcement of site safety requirements, construction codes, and project standards
• Review contractor monthly progress payments, billing documentation, and supporting backup
• Assist with payment approval tracking and project administrative controls
• Support emergency response procedures when required

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of construction or architectural industry experience
• Experience with semiconductor, high-tech industrial, or major commercial construction strongly preferred
• Experience with reinforced concrete (RC), precast concrete (PC), structural steel, and/or interior construction
• Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, specifications, and contracts
• Knowledge of construction codes, regulations, safety, and quality requirements
• Experience with project management, document tracking, and administrative controls
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and standard office software
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to perform and/or review standard structural calculations
• Spanish or Korean bilingual skills are a plus, but not required

Schedule Requirements

Candidates must be comfortable working in an active construction environment and have flexibility for overtime, overnight shifts, and occasional holiday work based on project needs.
