Why Join Us

Join a fast-growing construction and manufacturing enterprise known for its integrity, precision, and performance. As Controller, you’ll be the financial backbone of a business that values operational excellence and disciplined growth. This is your opportunity to modernize accounting systems, strengthen internal controls, and guide a talented team through complex project accounting and M&A integrations.

Role Overview

Reporting to the President, the Controller oversees all day-to-day accounting operations—general ledger, cost accounting, reporting, compliance, and controls. You’ll translate multifaceted construction and manufacturing contracts into accurate financial reporting under GAAP and ASC 606, ensuring the company remains audit-ready and growth-focused.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Leadership: Direct accounting operations including month-end close, reconciliations, and consolidated reporting for multiple business units.
  • Technical Accounting: Apply deep knowledge of ASC 606 and GAAP to construction and manufacturing contracts, ensuring proper revenue and cost recognition.
  • Cost Accounting: Establish and maintain job-costing frameworks for WIPchange orders, and percentage-of-completion (POC) contracts; monitor variances and provide insights to leadership.
  • Internal Controls & Compliance: Strengthen the control environment to support SOX-level audit readiness and operational transparency.
  • Audit & Tax Coordination: Manage annual audits and tax compliance in collaboration with external partners; ensure timely and accurate filings.
  • Systems & Process Improvement: Identify automation and system enhancement opportunities to increase accuracy and efficiency across accounting workflows.
  • Team Development: Lead and mentor accounting staff, fostering growth and continuous improvement within the department.
  • M&A Support: Assist in due diligence, integration, and post-close accounting for acquisitions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred; MBA a plus).
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within construction, manufacturing, or project-based industries.
  • Demonstrated expertise in ASC 606WIP/POC accounting, and internal control frameworks.
  • Proven ability to lead teams through financial close cycles and external audits.
  • Strong analytical mindset with meticulous attention to detail and operational follow-through.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills with a track record of process optimization.
