Job Description

Data Architect | Enterprise Data & Business Intelligence

Base salary: $140,000–$165,000 DOE

Turn complex data into better business decisions. Our client is looking for a hands-on Data Architect to lead the design and early delivery of its enterprise data platform and business intelligence roadmap.

This is an opportunity to help build the platform from the ground up: assess the current data environment, set a practical direction, and deliver the first production solutions. You’ll work closely with business and technology teams to create secure, scalable tools for trusted reporting, self-service analytics, and smarter decision-making.

What’s in it for you?

  • Base salary of $140,000–$165,000, based on experience
  • 401(k) plan with a generous company match
  • Medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug coverage
  • Personal leave, paid holidays, and bereavement leave
  • Phone allowance or company phone
  • Tuition reimbursement and career development opportunities
  • Employee referral incentives
  • Scholarship program for employees’ children
  • Discounts on automotive, computer, and cell phone products

What you’ll do

  • Evaluate current systems, integrations, reporting, data flows, ownership, data quality, and security.
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand business priorities and define future analytics needs.
  • Develop the enterprise data architecture and a phased roadmap for implementation.
  • Choose the right Microsoft Fabric tools for each use case, including OneLake, lakehouses, warehouses, pipelines, notebooks, and semantic models.
  • Build, test, and launch initial data solutions, from ingestion and transformation through reusable models, source control, deployment, and production monitoring.
  • Set practical standards for data modeling, governance, metadata, lineage, quality, access, security, retention, recovery, monitoring, and cost management.
  • Connect Penta Software and other enterprise systems to support reliable business intelligence, operational reporting, and self-service analytics.
  • Monitor platform reliability, data quality, user adoption, and business value—and improve the platform as needs evolve.
  • Document architecture and delivery decisions, communicate tradeoffs clearly, and safeguard confidential information.

What you’ll bring

  • Five or more years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, enterprise data management, business intelligence, analytics engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience assessing complex data environments and designing practical architectures and roadmaps for data lakes, lakehouses, warehouses, or cloud analytics platforms.
  • Hands-on experience building and deploying data solutions, including integration, transformation, testing, source control, release practices, and production support or monitoring.
  • Strong knowledge of data architecture and modeling, governance, data quality, metadata, lineage, security, access controls, and enterprise integration.
  • The ability to translate business needs into technical priorities and make sound recommendations across competing demands.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, documentation, facilitation, and communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, Power BI, Azure data services, or a similar cloud platform is preferred.
  • Experience integrating ERP, field service, project, CRM, finance, HR, payroll, or other enterprise systems is a plus.

Education and certifications

A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, data management, business analytics, engineering, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent education, training, certifications, and directly relevant experience will also be considered.

Relevant Microsoft Fabric, Azure, data architecture, data governance, database, analytics, or Power BI certifications are a plus. The ability to complete role-related training as assigned is expected.
