Commercial HVAC Service Technician

Pay: $30–$45/hour, depending on experience

The Opportunity

We’re seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technician to support commercial customers throughout the Richmond, VA area.

In this role, you’ll troubleshoot, maintain, and repair commercial HVAC systems across office buildings, industrial facilities, healthcare environments, and other commercial properties. This is a strong opportunity for a technician who is confident working independently, enjoys solving complex HVAC issues, and takes pride in providing professional service to customers.

What You’ll Do

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC systems, including:
  • Rooftop units (RTUs)
  • Split systems
  • Boilers
  • Related mechanical and electrical equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance to improve system performance and reduce downtime.
• Identify equipment issues and recommend appropriate repairs.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, equipment manuals, and technical documentation.
• Communicate repair needs, service findings, and recommendations clearly with customers and supervisors.
• Complete accurate service reports and required documentation.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
• Follow company safety procedures and applicable jobsite requirements.
• Provide professional customer service while working in occupied commercial environments.

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years of commercial HVAC service experience
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical HVAC systems
• EPA 608 Universal Certification required
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to pass required background and drug screenings
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Clear communication and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred Experience

Additional experience with the following is a plus:

• Boilers and chillers
• Building Automation Systems (BAS)
• Industrial HVAC equipment
• Commercial customer service and client-facing work

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb ladders and safely work at heights.
• Comfortable accessing rooftops and mechanical spaces.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
