Job Summary:

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to provide leadership for complex mechanical construction projects. This role will oversee projects from preconstruction through closeout, with responsibility for customer relationships, scheduling, contract administration, cost control, forecasting, procurement, safety, and financial performance.

Our client specializes in the construction, installation, service, and repair of mechanical systems across new construction, mechanical service, industrial refrigeration, special projects, and manufacturing. For more than 50 years, they have provided exceptional services to commercial customers.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and/or plumbing knowledge, experience managing commercial or industrial projects exceeding $1 million, and the ability to coordinate customers, subcontractors, vendors, field teams, and internal stakeholders.

What You Will Do:

·        Lead all aspects of mechanical construction projects, including budget, schedule, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction

·        Serve as the primary customer contact and communicate project status, budget, and schedule updates

·        Develop, maintain, and adjust project schedules

·        Analyze project requirements and develop labor forecasts and staffing plans

·        Manage project financial performance, including revenue projections, cost-to-complete forecasting, and gross profit

·        Lead Work-in-Progress reviews and maintain accurate project forecasts

·        Manage equipment, material, and subcontractor estimate performance

·        Oversee project setup, buyout activities, and procurement strategies

·        Coordinate materials, equipment, subcontractors, vendors, field teams, and stakeholders

·        Manage submittals, operations and maintenance manuals, project documentation, and closeout activities

·        Negotiate change orders and oversee the change management process

·        Prepare and review RFIs and evaluate responses for schedule, cost, and scope impacts

·        Interpret project specifications and review drawings and related documents

·        Participate in bid reviews and evaluate project risks and opportunities

·        Facilitate regular project meetings and support timely issue resolution

·        Coordinate project execution requirements with Superintendents

·        Oversee project administration, including payroll approvals, permitting, and compliance requirements

·        Participate in safety meetings, initiatives, and jobsite engagement

·        Mentor and develop Project Managers and Project Engineers

·        Perform other duties as assigned

What We Are Looking For:

·        Minimum of five years of commercial or industrial project management experience

·        Demonstrated experience managing projects exceeding $1 million

·        Experience managing large-scale projects lasting one year or longer

·        Strong mechanical and/or plumbing trade knowledge

·        OSHA 30 certification and a comprehensive understanding of OSHA safety regulations

·        Strong knowledge of project scheduling, cost control, forecasting, procurement, and contract administration

·        Ability to read and interpret project drawings, specifications, and related documents in English

·        Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills

·        Proven ability to anticipate challenges, evaluate options, and make sound business decisions

·        Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

·        Proficiency with current technology, including laptops, tablets, smartphones, and Microsoft Teams

·        Ability to work independently with limited supervision

·        Positive, collaborative, and team-oriented approach

·        Ability to maintain a sense of urgency while remaining calm and professional under pressure

·        Flexibility to work evenings or weekends when project and customer needs require

·        Ability and willingness to travel to offsite meetings, regional offices, and jobsites

·        Valid driver’s license and ability to travel safely throughout the region

Additional Details:

·        Full-time, Monday through Friday

·        Occasional evening and weekend work may be required

·        Unscheduled overtime may be required as necessary

·        Overnight travel is rare

·        This position is not conducive to remote work
