Position Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to provide overall leadership and management direction for complex mechanical construction projects throughout Hendersonville, Tennessee and the Southeast region. This role is responsible for driving successful project execution from planning through completion while ensuring safety, quality, schedule, budget, profitability, and customer expectations are achieved.
The Senior Project Manager leads project teams, manages key client and architect/engineer relationships, oversees project financial and contractual performance, and provides direction to Project Managers and field leadership. This position also supports business growth by strengthening customer relationships and identifying new project opportunities across the Southeast.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
A Day in the Life
- Provide overall management direction for assigned mechanical construction projects.
- Plan, organize, and coordinate project teams, including Project Managers, Superintendents, and other field personnel.
- Establish project objectives, procedures, schedules, milestones, and performance standards.
- Manage projects from planning and preconstruction through execution, startup, and closeout.
- Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, schedules, staffing plans, and execution strategies.
- Monitor project performance to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract requirements.
- Identify project risks, delays, cost concerns, and operational challenges and implement corrective measures.
- Maintain strong working relationships with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and other project stakeholders.
- Serve as a key point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Represent the organization in project meetings, coordination meetings, labor discussions, and strategy sessions.
- Manage financial aspects of assigned contracts, including cost projections, billing, equipment expenses, project income, and profitability.
- Monitor project financial performance and develop strategies to protect margins and achieve financial objectives.
- Review contracts, change orders, procurement requirements, and other project documentation.
- Coordinate workforce planning and staffing requirements with operations and field leadership.
- Work with field teams to resolve technical, scheduling, coordination, and operational issues.
- Supervise, mentor, and provide direction to Project Managers and other assigned project personnel.
- Evaluate project performance and recommend improvements that enhance productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
- Develop and maintain customer relationships that support repeat business and future project opportunities.
- Identify new business opportunities with existing customers, prospective clients, and strategic partners throughout the Southeast.
- Ensure project activities comply with company policies, procedures, industry standards, and contractual requirements.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by executive or operational leadership.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and industry experience.
- 5+ years of progressive project management experience in mechanical construction or a related contracting environment.
- Experience managing projects with responsibility for schedule, budget, contracts, field operations, and customer relationships.
- Experience leading Project Managers, Superintendents, field teams, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical construction methods, project controls, financial management, and industry practices.
- Ability and willingness to support projects and customers across the Southeast region, as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of mechanical construction project management and project delivery.
- Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, billing, cost control, and project profitability.
- Ability to interpret contracts, drawings, specifications, schedules, and other project documentation.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
- Ability to independently evaluate project challenges and implement effective solutions.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Senior Project Manager, Mechanical Project Manager, Project Executive, or similar leadership role.
- Experience managing large-scale or technically complex mechanical projects.
- Experience with HVAC, plumbing, process piping, mechanical systems, or specialty piping projects.
- Demonstrated success delivering projects within established budget and schedule requirements.
- Experience supervising and mentoring Project Managers and project teams.
- Experience developing customer relationships and supporting business development efforts.
- Familiarity with project management, scheduling, estimating, and construction management software.
