Journeyman Plumber – Commercial & Industrial

About the Opportunity

We’re seeking a licensed Journeyman Plumber to join our commercial mechanical team serving Kalamazoo and surrounding areas. You’ll install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair plumbing systems in commercial and industrial facilities while working alongside HVAC, piping, and mechanical crews.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and layout drawings
• Install piping, valves, fittings, fixtures, and related plumbing components
• Troubleshoot and repair leaks, clogs, damaged piping, and faulty fixtures
• Perform preventative maintenance on commercial plumbing systems
• Work with copper, PVC/CPVC, cast iron, and other piping materials
• Perform soldering and brazing as required
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and national plumbing codes
• Coordinate scheduling and materials with supervisors and other trades
• Complete daily timesheets, material logs, and as-built documentation
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas

Qualifications

• Valid Michigan Journeyman Plumber License required
• 3–5+ years of commercial or industrial plumbing experience
• Proficiency with copper, PVC/CPVC, cast iron, soldering, and brazing
• Knowledge of backflow systems, grease traps, and commercial water heaters
• Strong blueprint reading and layout skills
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in confined or wet environments
• Ability to pass required background check and drug screening
