TIG Pipe Welder (6G | Heavy Wall)

Overview

We’re seeking a highly skilled TIG Pipe Welder with experience welding 2.5" Double Extra Heavy (.552 wall) pipe in the 6G position. This role requires precision, strong code knowledge, and the ability to deliver high-quality welds in an industrial setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform GTAW (TIG) welding on heavy-wall pipe in the 6G position
• Complete full penetration welds meeting code and inspection standards (RT/X-ray)
• Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and WPS
• Handle fit-up, beveling, and alignment
• Maintain weld quality, heat control, and safety standards

Qualifications

• Proven experience with TIG welding on heavy-wall pipe
• Ability to pass a 6G weld test
• Experience with double extra heavy (.552 wall) pipe
• Strong blueprint reading and attention to detail
• Reliable and safety-focused

Preferred

• Industrial or pipe fabrication experience
• Stainless and/or carbon pipe welding
• Familiarity with ASME/code welding standards
• Additional processes (Stick/MIG) a plus
