Job Title: HVAC / Duct Superintendent

Location: Travel within the Southeast (office located in Hendersonville, TN)

Position Summary

Our client is seeking an HVAC / Duct Superintendent responsible for the on-site leadership, coordination, and execution of HVAC ductwork installation projects. This role ensures all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans, specifications, and company standards. The Superintendent supervises field crews, coordinates with other trades, manages schedules, and maintains high-quality workmanship while meeting project deadlines and budgets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (A Day in the Life)

• Lead and supervise HVAC duct installation crews on commercial and industrial projects

• Coordinate daily field operations to maintain project schedules

• Interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and specifications for proper installation

• Assign tasks and oversee the work of sheet metal mechanics, installers, and helpers

• Train and mentor field personnel to improve skills, productivity, and safety awareness

• Maintain crew accountability for productivity, quality, and professionalism

• Ensure ductwork and HVAC systems are installed according to plans, codes, and industry standards

• Conduct inspections of installed work to maintain high workmanship standards

• Identify and resolve installation issues or conflicts with other trades

• Coordinate work with general contractors, project managers, and other subcontractors

• Assist with manpower planning and material staging

• Track project progress and report status to management

• Enforce OSHA safety standards and company safety policies

• Conduct job site safety meetings and inspections

• Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment

• Coordinate material deliveries and ensure proper inventory management

• Monitor usage of tools and equipment on job sites

• Assist in identifying material shortages and ordering needs

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

• 5+ years of experience in HVAC ductwork installation

• 2+ years of experience in a supervisory or foreman role

• Experience leading crews on commercial or industrial job sites

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems and duct installation methods

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings

• Strong leadership and communication skills

• Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and trades in a construction environment

• Working knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and job site safety practices

Preferred Qualifications

• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification

• Experience with commercial construction projects

• Experience coordinating with multiple trades on large job sites

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs.

• Ability to work on ladders, lifts, and scaffolding

• Ability to work in varying weather conditions and construction environments
