Position Title: Senior HVAC and Refrigeration Service Technician Position Summary:

The Senior HVAC/Refrigeration Service Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial and industrial refrigeration systems. This role requires advanced troubleshooting skills and the ability to ensure that refrigeration systems operate efficiently and safely in compliance with industry regulations.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Installation and Setup: Install and configure refrigeration systems, including walk-in coolers, freezers, ice machines, and industrial refrigeration units.
• Maintenance and Repairs: Conduct regular service calls to troubleshoot and repair issues with refrigeration units, such as compressor failure, refrigerant leaks, and electrical malfunctions.
• Leak Detection and Refrigerant Handling: Use specialized tools to detect refrigerant leaks and ensure that systems are charged with the correct refrigerant levels, following EPA regulations.
• System Testing: Test system pressures, temperature levels, and overall performance to ensure all components are functioning according to manufacturer specifications.
• Customer Service: Provide expert advice to customers on system improvements and energy efficiency, maintaining a professional and friendly approach during interactions.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate electronic or written service records, detailing diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance performed.
• Compliance: Adhere to safety standards and regulatory requirements related to refrigerant handling and system repairs.
• Emergency Services: Provide timely response to emergency service calls, ensuring refrigeration systems are restored to proper functioning as quickly as possible.

Education, Training, Licenses, and Certifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in servicing commercial hvac/refrigeration systems.
• Certifications: EPA Section 608 Universal Certification required.
• Additional Certifications: OSHA 10 or 30 Certification, First Aid/CPR training preferred.

Compensation:

• Pay range: $30-$40 per hour, depending on experience (DOE).

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined or cold environments.
• Comfortable working in varying temperatures.

Additional Requirements:

• Strong mechanical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
