Senior Building Automation Controls Engineer

$45.00 – $65.00+ per hour (based on experience)

Reports to: BAS Project Manager

We are seeking a Senior HVAC Controls Specialist- Building Automation to lead the delivery of high-quality BAS solutions for commercial and institutional projects. This is a technical leadership role ideal for an experienced controls professional who thrives in engineering and project environments.

What You’ll Do:

• Develop and program DDC systems (Schneider EcoStruxure preferred; BACnet, Niagara/Tridium experience welcome)
• Review and implement Sequences of Operation (SOO)
• Troubleshoot BAS/BMS networks and HVAC control systems
• Lead system start-up, testing, commissioning, and customer training
• Oversee subcontractor installations and ensure specification compliance
• Serve as technical lead and mentor junior engineers/technicians
• Support project meetings, documentation, and close-out activities

What We’re Looking For:

• 5+ years of commercial Building Automation / HVAC Controls experience
• Strong programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting skills
• Solid understanding of HVAC systems, electronics, and networked controls
• Knowledge of construction practices and industry standards
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with project teams
• Strong communication skills and customer-focused mindset
